How iOS can support Samsung Gear S2 ?
iOs has always been enjoyed by iPhone users alone… until
something shared the spotlight with them. iPhone users should look out for
Samsung Gear watch as the company claims that they are iOS compatible. Some
people may be pleased to know that we can finally share other files between
these two phones after long years of being iPhone-limited. Though this has yet
to be finalized for S2 watch, Samsung Gear S3 has already been updated with the
iOS. But how can iOS support Samsung gear watch?
Samsung has rolled out their iOS beta program for both the
S2 watch and the Gear fit 2 watch. Despite the compatibility, it is not
expected that the program will be able to support the features that are best
laid on Samsung’s own smartphones. However, you can be sure that the
notifications are certainly up-to-date.
To further gain more knowledge and participate in this beta
program, you will be able to sign up at their beta page. This program will last
until September 19 and, thus, you can still subscribed and join it. If you are
an iPhone owner though, you might need to upgrade to iOS 8.4 to participate in
the program.
Samsung has announced the move to iOS compatibility last
September 2015 as they launched a Tizen-running smartwatch. Tizen software is
Samsung’s own company which enables them to develop their wearables. The app
being developed now for S2 and Gear fit 2 watch is called Gear Manager. This
app will allow Samsung to pair with any iPhones. However, since the app won’t
be available on Apple’s App Store, you might need to download it on other
sites. It can be sideloaded on a jailbroken iPhone for the application to be
useful. But since iPhone is iPhone, it does not allow a third-party app to run
on its system that easily.
But whatever comes of this little compatibility test, we
might be able to expect the app to be released sooner than later as it must
already be on its last testing stage and should be available on App Store soon
enough.
Meanwhile, last August 31, 2016, a report on Apple Insider
said Samsung has already announced their Gear S3 iOS watches. It is powered by dual core 1.0GHz processor
with a 1.3-inch circular 278 ppi AMOLED display. It has 758 MB RAM and 4GB
storage. It is 12.9mm thick and weighs at either 57 g or 62 g, while Apple
Watch is at 10.5mm thick and weighs at 50g. Furthermore, Apple has been rumored
to release an update for their Apple Watch on their “See you on the 7th”
event this coming Sept. 7 though rumors has it that it won’t update the LTE
radio.
People are very keen to see the new release of the iOS
supported Gear 2 Smartwatches and everyone is excited about that. We just hope that the
price and release date will soon be made public so that we know when can we
have these cool updated watch tightly secured on our wrist.
